    Effective business networking is the linking together of individuals who, through trust and relationship building, become walking, talking advertisements for one another.

    1. Keep in mind that networking is about being genuine and authentic, building trust and relationships, and seeing how you can help others.

    2. Ask yourself what your goals are in participating in networking meetings so that you will pick groups that will help you get what you are looking for. Some meetings are based more on learning, making contacts, and/or volunteering rather than on strictly making business connections.

    3. Visit as many groups as possible that spark your interest. Notice the tone and attitude of the group. Do the people sound supportive of one another? Does the leadership appear competent? Many groups will allow you to visit two times before joining.

    4. Hold volunteer positions in organizations. This is a great way to stay visible and give back to groups that have helped you.

    5. Ask open-ended questions in networking conversations. This means questions that ask who, what, where, when, and how as opposed to those that can be answered with a simple yes or no. This form of questioning opens up the discussion and shows listeners that you are interested in them.

    Business networking is all about becoming memorable, in a good way. The goal of networking is to create goodwill, a positive reputation, and referrals for the business. This word of mouth marketing technique can take place anywhere from official networking events to the sidewalk of a city street. As part of a larger marketing plan, generating word of mouth referrals costs much less money, but requires a greater time investment. Successful business networkers are sincere, interested in people, and ready with an "elevator speech" about their business.

      8.Be able to articulate what you are looking for and how others may help you. Too often people in conversations ask, "How may I help you?" and no immediate answer comes to mind.

      9.Follow through quickly and efficiently on referrals you are given. When people give you referrals, your actions are a reflection on them. Respect and honor that and your referrals will grow.

      10.Call those you meet who may benefit from what you do and vice versa. Express that you enjoyed meeting them, and ask if you could get together and share ideas.

        2. Become active in a local leads group.
        3. Volunteer to do a 15 min. presentation after a lunch meeting for service organizations.
        4. Become involved with your local United Way annual campaign.

          2. create the business fan on face book and invite to your friends or like to other fan pages.
          3. create the business group on linkedin or join local business group.
          4.increase your followers or follow to your business colleague.

            Brand the business, make it public.
            Create a valuable image you may want to keep.
            Focus on presenting the purpose, setting a goal.
            Respect the market and treat it wisely.
            Develop the image before selling it.
            Be personal, encourage feedback work the "crowd" and respect your clients.
            Market and develop every day...pauses kill your chances of succes.

            Pick a product, market it, develop its image and sell it.

            Be patient and think long term.

            Say to yourself: I rather make money slower and steady for the rest of my life, than a lot and only once in a lifetime.

                  Pay close attention to the body language of your partners, know what makes them interesting and if you feel the topic is boring than kindly change the topic. Search for topics which are interesting to both the parties.

                    I do think that besides doing real active networking in Business Networks you can also use a
                    Blog as a way to Communicate in a Conversational way, that way making it possible to discover new Opportunities,
                    or for finding potential Joint Venture Partners and things like that.                       If you really want to be the person others want to know, you must have a list that you can promote an offer to. Once you have a list (email or SMS) of significance then you can send out a blast and get instant business for anyone you are networking with. Word will spread quickly and these people will all want to work with you. So build your list, go to an event, create a jv, send out promo for your new partner to your list. Rinse and repeat. That is how you truly become a power networker.
